The Dorogomilovsky District Court sentenced Maxim Pavlyuk, former head of the Department of the Higher Qualification Commission of the Federal Air Transport Agency, to eight years in a high-security penal colony. This was reported on March 3 by a correspondent of Izvestia.

Pavlyuk was detained in October 2022 along with two accomplices on suspicion of extortion. It was established that from March 2021 to September 2022, the defendants in the case organized a criminal community and extorted bribes from Russian airline pilots to cover up the violations.

Earlier, on February 3, the former Minister of Transport and Road Management of the Sverdlovsk region was sentenced in the case of href="https://iz.ru/1832759/2025-02-03/eks-glave-mintransa-sverdlovskoi-oblasti-vynesli-prigovor-po-delu-o-vziatochnichestve " target="_blank">bribery. The court sentenced him to six years and six months in prison, as well as a fine of 40 million rubles. He will serve his sentence in a high-security penal colony.
