The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation expects the introduction of a year-round discount on railway tickets for children

The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation expects that a government decree on a 50% year-round discount on long-distance train tickets for children will be issued within two weeks. This was announced on March 3 by the head of the department, Roman Starovoit, at a meeting of the presidium of the Council of Legislators at the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

"We hope that the draft resolution will be released in the next two weeks. We need to hurry up here, because we are already opening summer sales this week," the minister said.

He noted that the proposal to introduce a year-round benefit was supported by the Russian State Duma last year. The government decree, according to the minister, will guarantee the support of families from the state and make the benefit more understandable by eliminating the requirement to provide a school certificate.
