Chef gave nutrition tips for Ramadan

During the fast, there are actually two meals — before dawn (suhur) and at sunset (iftar). It is necessary to make sure that even with this regime, the balance of nutrients is maintained.
"I definitely start my morning meal with a few sips of drinking water, then I eat a banana and move on to breakfast, which will help me abstain from eating and drinking for 12 hours," the expert shared his experience.
The chef advises to keep boiled eggs in the morning with a liquid yolk inside. He also includes fresh cucumbers, tomatoes and lettuce leaves in his breakfast. Another must—have dish is homemade oatmeal porridge with nuts and muesli, which is an excellent source of slow carbohydrates that will help you avoid feeling hungry for a long time.
Iftar begins immediately after sunset, and in Tatarstan, traditionally, this meal usually gathers large companies at one table. The meal begins with water (to restore the balance of fluid in the body) and dates.
"After a long abstinence, it's better to start with a light salad, then move on to soup, and as the main hot dish, you can choose baked chicken thigh with potatoes and red pepper. Thus, at a later time, you can focus on animal fats, but at the same time not overload the body with protein before bedtime," explained Misbakhov.
Detailed recipes for these and other dishes, as well as other tips from chefs, are available read on the Izvestia Zen channel "Food Without Borders".
