Almost 10 thousand luxury cars were evacuated in Moscow over the winter

This winter, the tow trucks of the Moscow Parking moved almost 10 thousand premium class cars to special parking lots. Their owners violated parking rules, and also left cars in places for the disabled and on sidewalks. This was announced on March 3 by the Moscow Department of Transport in its Telegram channel.
BMW (2.7 thousand times), Mercedes-Benz (2.6 thousand times), and Audi (1.4 thousand times) cars were most often moved. The decision to move a car to a special parking lot is made by employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate or inspectors of the Moscow Administrative Road Inspectorate (MADI).
Since February 10, MADI inspectors have strengthened control over compliance with the rules of stopping and parking on five streets in the capital: on 3rd Magistralnaya Street, Letchik Oskanov Street, Malaya Bronnaya Street, Perevenskiy Boulevard and Sheremetyevskaya Street.
At the end of last year, the Metropolitan Department of Transport announced that since the beginning of 2024, MADI inspectors have increased their patrols on 42 streets with heavy traffic. According to Maxim Liksutov, Moscow's Deputy mayor for Transport, thanks to such measures, the number of parking violations there has decreased by an average of 70%.
On February 17, the Moscow Department of Transport announced that the limit on the number of parking sessions that can be fixed in a month has been removed from the Parking of Russia mobile application. Previously, a user could fix no more than three sessions per month, but now this number is unlimited.
On January 29, it was reported that a fine for legal entities for non-payment of city parking increased 10 times in Moscow — from 5,000 to 50,000 rubles. The Moscow City Duma adopted changes to the capital Administrative Code.
