Russia's FSB neutralized a native of the Central Asian region who planned terrorist attacks in the subway Moscow, as well as in a synagogue near Moscow. This was announced on March 3 at the department's Public Relations Center.
According to the agency, the man is a member of an international terrorist organization banned in the territory of the Russian Federation. He was going to commit terrorist attacks using improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
It is specified that the man conducted a reconnaissance of the area in advance, purchased components for the manufacture of explosives. The FSB reported that after committing the crime, he was going to leave for Afghanistan and join the ranks of a terrorist organization.
"During the arrest, the criminal put up armed resistance to the FSB officers of Russia and as a result was neutralized by return fire," the report says.
As a result of searches at the place of residence of the militant, department employees found and seized firearms, components, chemicals and destructive elements for assembling explosive devices.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 205 ("Terrorist act"), part 2 of Article 205.5 ("Organization of the activities of a terrorist organization and participation in the activities of such an organization") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia stopped a series of terrorist attacks in Stavropol, which was planned to be committed by a citizen of one of the Central Asian countries, a supporter of the Ukrainian terrorist paramilitary association.
