Israel may resume hostilities if the Palestinian Hamas movement refuses to release hostages and extend the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. This was announced on March 2 by the television and radio company Kan.

It is specified that the Israeli government is preparing a plan aimed at freeing the hostages, which consists of several stages of pressure on the Palestinian organization. The first of them, according to the newspaper, is the closure of humanitarian aid routes to the Gaza Strip.

The second stage will be the transportation of Gazans "from north to south," and the third will be the power outage. In the event that these points prove unsuccessful, Israel will "fully resume hostilities" using equipment and funds received from the government USA.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that The IDF suspended humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip after the refusal of the Palestinian Hamas movement to accept the US plan to continue negotiations. It was noted that such a decision was made by the government in coordination with the administration of the American president Donald Trump. Hamas, in turn, called Israel's decision to stop the import of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip href="https://iz.ru/1847485/2025-03-02/hamas-nazvalo-desevym-santazom-resenie-izraila-priostanovit-vvoz-gumpomosi-v-gazu"> cheap blackmail.
