On March 3, the head of the State Duma Committee on Property, Sergey Gavrilov, spoke about changing the rules for granting tax deductions and their limits in 2025.

"The first significant change concerns the property tax deduction. His limit remains the same — 2 million rubles, but the refund amount increases at different rates," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to Gavrilov, if earlier the tax was calculated based on a single 13%, now the refund amount depends on the specific tax rate at which the personal income tax was paid. Those who pay the tax at the rate of 22% can receive up to 440 thousand rubles instead of the previous 260 thousand. Gavrilov added that the amount of repayment on mortgage interest will also increase for them — up to 660 thousand rubles.

"As a result, a high—income taxpayer using both types of property deduction will be able to receive up to 1.1 million rubles in refund," he stressed. The MP clarified that the income limit, up to which standard child tax deductions are provided, is also being increased. Starting from 2025, it will amount to 450 thousand rubles. The amount of payments for the child's education is also increased to 110 thousand rubles.

"Social tax deductions are also undergoing changes. The total limit of such deductions is increased to 150 thousand rubles, and the maximum amount of personal income tax refund on them will be: 19 thousand rubles at the rate of 13%, 22 thousand rubles at the rate of 15%, 27 thousand rubles at the rate of 18%, 30 thousand rubles at the rate of 20% and 33 thousand rubles at the rate of 22%. — Gavrilov explained.

In addition, starting this year, it will be impossible to receive a refund for interest on deposits, income from the sale of property, shares and securities, insurance and pension payments. As the deputy explained, this is due to the fact that they will no longer be included in the main personal income tax database.

Lawyer Madina Tebueva told Izvestia on February 20 about the possibility of obtaining tax deduction for sports. According to her, payments can be received for the services of organizations or individual entrepreneurs (IE) registered in the official register of operators of sports and recreation services. The expert clarified that the maximum refund amount is 19.5 thousand rubles.
