A detachment of Pacific Fleet ships conducted artillery firing in the Indian Ocean

A detachment of ships of the Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet) consisting of the corvettes "Sharp", "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov" and the medium sea tanker "Pechenga" conducted an artillery firing exercise in the eastern Indian Ocean. This was announced on March 3 in the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

During the sea crossing, the crews of the Pacific Fleet ships worked out the tasks of repelling the attack of air attack weapons and conducting naval combat with a detachment of ships of a simulated enemy.

A Ka-27M helicopter was lifted into the sky for reconnaissance and target search, the crew of which issued targets, instructions and adjusted firing. During the testing of the tasks, artillery crews performed combat exercises during the day and at night with firing from automatic 100-millimeter A-190 naval guns and 30-millimeter AK-630M automatic artillery installations.

As a result of the firing, all surface and air targets simulated by the ships' combat information system were hit. The ships also used a passive jamming system and evaded a retaliatory missile strike by a simulated enemy.

After the exercise, the corvettes "Sharp" and "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov" alternately replenished fuel reserves from the medium sea tanker "Pechenga". Refueling was carried out on the move using the wake method in favorable weather conditions.

A detachment of Pacific Fleet ships consisting of the corvettes "Sharp", "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov" and the medium sea tanker "Pechenga" left Vladivostok in long-distance hiking in early February. As part of the campaign, the ships of the Russian Navy arrived in Indonesia, where participated in the Komodo-2025 multilateral naval exercise near the Indonesian Bali Islands.
