Cardiologist Yulia Marshintseva named the refusal of physical activity, improper medication intake and excessive blood pressure measurement as one of the main mistakes of hypertensive patients.

In conversation with Moskvoy 24 On February 28, the doctor stressed that such patients often stop taking medications prescribed by a doctor immediately after normalization of blood pressure and improvement of well-being.

"Unfortunately, hypertension is not treated with courses: drugs are selected for life. If the pressure is good, it means that the doctor did everything right. But such drugs need to be taken daily, and some patients voluntarily cancel them. And a week later, they start having crises again," Marshintseva stressed.

According to her, many people also start taking medications on the advice of friends, but not always what suits one person will be as effective for another, writes RT. Another mistake of hypertensive patients, the doctor called too frequent pressure measurement. It is optimal to do this three times a day. Additionally, you can check the indicators for headaches or feeling unwell.

In addition, you should not give up physical activity. Even walking for an hour every day is enough — the body will reduce blood pressure.

Internist Viktor Lishin also warned that hypertensive patients who smoke and drink alcohol have a significantly increased risk of vascular complications. He also attributed the mistakes to excessive salt intake, which causes swelling and is harmful to the heart and kidneys. It is permissible to consume no more than 5 g of salt per day, clarifies Life.ru .

On February 19, cardiologist Joseph Shubitidze advised against coffee for arrhythmias and angina pectoris. The safe dose is 300-500 mg per day, but for hypertensive patients, caffeine can be dangerous. href="https://360.ru/news/zdorove/kardiolog-shubitidze-posovetoval-otkazatsja-ot-kofe-pri-aritmii-i-stenokardii/">360.ru.

At the end of December, endocrinologist Maria Kaloshina recommended that hypertensive patients limit the consumption of caviar. According to her, caviar contains sodium, excessive consumption of which can cause a violation of water metabolism, contribute to edema and increased blood pressure. href="https://nsn.fm/society/endokrinolog-kaloshina-rekomendovala-gipertonikam-ogranichit-upotreblenie-ikry">НСН.

Earlier, during a period of high atmospheric pressure, doctor Andrey Tyazhelnikov recommended hypotensive people to have a hearty breakfast, and hypertensive people to add fruits and vegetables rich in potassium to their diet. In an interview with the city news agency "Moscow"The specialist noted that patients need to regularly measure their blood pressure, take medications prescribed by a doctor on time and refrain from high physical activity.

In May last year, Yevgeny Shlyakhto, chief freelance cardiologist at the Russian Ministry of Health, said that href="https://iz.ru/1697760/2024-05-17/kardiolog-nazval-neochevidnye-faktory-razvitiia-arterialnoi-gipertonii " target="_blank">hypertension is more common in men, however, their awareness of the disease and the effectiveness of its treatment are lower than in women.
