Gunba won the second round of presidential elections in Abkhazia

Badra Gunba was elected President of Abkhazia following the results of the second round of presidential elections. This was announced on March 2 by the chairman of the Central Election Commission of the republic Dmitry Marshan.

"Badra Gunba received the most votes in the re—election and was elected president of Abkhazia," Marchand announced at a briefing.

Gunba scored 56.85% of the total votes cast for both candidates, while Adgur Ardzinba scored 43.15%.

According to the CEC, the voter turnout was 70%. The number of people who came to the polling stations increased compared to the first round. A total of 100,000 citizens of Abkhazia voted.
