"In the period from February 25 to February 27, unknown persons called the 90-year—old pensioner's phone, who introduced themselves as employees of the military prosecutor's office and financial monitoring," the source said.
It is noted that under the pretext of saving money, the attackers convinced the woman to transfer them to an unknown person. After that, on February 27, the pensioner gave 4 million rubles.
The identity and location of the suspect have been established. A few days later, police officers detained a 58-year-old woman.
A criminal case has been opened into the incident.
Earlier, on February 24, in Moscow fraudsters lured the inventor and Doctor of technical sciences 9 million rubles under the pretext of declaring cash. According to the Izvestia source, the 88-year-old man met with couriers three times near his house and gave them more than 9 million rubles in various currencies.
