France takes a position in favor of continuing the conflict on Ukraine by all means. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the policy of French President Emmanuel Macron.

"He [Macron] had said before that he was ready to communicate with [the Russian president] Vladimir Putin, however, has not taken any real steps in this direction. That is, on the contrary, France took a position in favor of continuing the war by any means," he said. A fragment of the interview was published on March 2 in the Telegram channel of VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin.

The Kremlin's official representative also noted that it is not yet clear exactly how the position of the Europeans regarding the Ukrainian conflict will change — time will tell. According to Peskov, the opinion of European countries is influenced by the dynamics of Russian-American relations.

On the eve of March 1, the leader of the French parliamentary faction of the National Unification Party, Marine Le Pen, said that Paris had been crossed out href="https://iz.ru/1847342/2025-03-01/le-pen-zaavila-o-vycerkivanii-francii-iz-processa-peregovorov-po-ukraine"> from the settlement process of the conflict in Ukraine. According to her, France could have played a significant role, but "the peoples of Europe were divided."
