According to preliminary calculations, Badra Gunba won the second round of the presidential elections in Abkhazia. He has already announced this at a meeting with supporters, calling the election results a victory for the people of Abkhazia for the sake of the country's future.

According to preliminary data, Gunba won about 60% of the vote. In his speech to the supporters, he thanked every citizen of the republic for their civic stand.

"This is not a victory for the team of Badra Gunba and Beslan Bigvav, it should be a victory for the people of Abkhazia," the candidate said.

At all 152 polling stations in Abkhazia, it was possible to observe how the commission members carefully opened the seals. Every vote is important — the ballots are sent to the table under close supervision. The buildings remained closed and guarded until the end of the vote count.

In addition, the Abkhazians could cast their vote outside the republic — in Moscow and Cherkessk. Observers noted that they had not noticed any irregularities during the elections that could affect the voting results.

"Many people want to spread terms about wrong actions that affect voice integration. I can say that I have not seen anything related to these statements," said Arnaud Olivier Jean Develet, an observer from France.

Two candidates took part in it — Gunba and Adgur Ardzinba, who lagged behind him by 10% in the first round. Polling stations for voting completed their work at 20:00 Moscow time.

Many Abkhazians living in Russia came to the Russian capital from other cities specifically to vote. Observers who are working on the second round of the March 1 elections said that the process organized transparently.
