At the meeting of Lithuanian Minister of National Defense Dovile Shakalene, Senior Adviser to the President Of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and Alexander Kamyshin, Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine, German Smetanin, reached a preliminary agreement on the purchase of 20 million euros worth of Ukrainian weapons by Vilnius for their subsequent transfer to the Ukrainian army. This was reported on March 1 on on the website of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense.

"Lithuania will continue to invest in the Ukrainian defense industry, purchasing weapons for the Ukrainian military in Ukraine. €20 million has already been allocated for this purpose," said Deauville Shakalene.

She also noted that Lithuania will continue to strive for closer cooperation with Ukraine. For security reasons, the minister added, some possible types of weapons of joint production will not be disclosed. The Ministry drew attention to the fact that in the near future, representatives of the two countries will meet in Lithuania to discuss the details of the implementation of the agreement.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said during a meeting with Zelensky on March 1 that Britain would provide Ukraine with all the necessary support. He stressed that the United Kingdom intends to achieve peace for Ukraine based on "sovereignty and security." On the same day, Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko and British Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves signed an agreement under which London will provide Kiev with £2.26 billion (almost $3 billion).
