Orban accused celebrities of receiving large sums for coming to Ukraine

Celebrities came to Ukraine and sympathized with its citizens for millions of dollars and euros. Such a statement on March 1 on the TV channel TV2 was made by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
"I'm a polite person, I don't want to be rude, but people were paid for their opinion. To the point that celebrities, I'm talking about movie stars, were given money to travel to Ukraine. That is, they had no sympathy for Ukrainians, but they received euros or dollars, even millions of euros, and they did it," he said.According to him, in the same way, journalists and non-governmental organizations did not promote their opinions, but said what they were paid for.
He stressed that the corruption scandal is that "for all sorts of far-fetched reasons" billions were transferred from the American budget to funds and various forms of support, and then distributed around the world and given to those who "represent the spirituality, program and specific interests required by Americans." Orban noted that in 40 years of political activity he had not seen anything like this.
The politician also said that Hungary would not allow her to be treated as a "puppet on strings", Hungarian citizens "will decide for themselves who to believe and what to believe."
On the eve of Orban's letter to the President of the European Union (EU) Antonio Costa demanded that the EU begin "direct negotiations with Russia on a cease-fire" in the conflict in Ukraine and not try to find a compromise among the members of the association.
