The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine announced the signing of an agreement with Britain for almost $ 3 billion.

Minister of Finance Ukraine's Sergei Marchenko and British Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves signed an agreement under which London will provide Kiev with £2.26 billion (almost $3 billion). The corresponding press release was published on the website of the Ukrainian department on March 1.

"The Minister of Finance of Ukraine and the Chancellor of the Exchequer of Great Britain signed an agreement to provide Ukraine with 2.26 billion pounds. The signing ceremony, which took place in an online format, was attended by [the President of Ukraine] Vladimir Zelensky and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer," the message says.

The press service noted that the financing is provided for 30 years, and the funds received will be used to purchase defense materials from Ukraine and are part of the G7 Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration (ERA) program.

ERA is an emergency loan program provided by the leaders of the Group of Seven to Ukraine in the amount of $50 billion. According to the scheme, loans are serviced by profits from frozen Russian sovereign assets.

On March 1, during a meeting with Zelensky, Starmer said that the UK would provide Ukraine with all the necessary support. He stressed that the United Kingdom intends to achieve peace for Ukraine based on "sovereignty and security."

January 17, the British government announced Ukraine will receive a record £4.5 billion (almost $5.5 billion) in military aid in 2025. On January 16, it became known that Zelensky and Starmer signed an agreement on strategic cooperation between the countries.
