On March 2, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the exploits of Russian servicemen committed during a special military operation (SVO).

According to the ministry, Junior Sergeant Vladimir Belyaev, acting as part of an assault unit, carried out a combat mission to take control of positions held by the Armed Forces Ukraine (Ukrainian Armed Forces) on an important offensive line of Russian troops.

Despite artillery strikes, FPV drones and enemy fire on the attack aircraft of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Belyaev's group outflanked the stronghold and broke into enemy positions. The military, conducting targeted fire, destroyed a camouflaged point of the Ukrainian militants. Having cleared the stronghold, Junior Sergeant Belyaev, together with his colleagues, built a defensive line to repel enemy attacks. Belyaev's assault group held off the enemy for three days before the arrival of the main forces of the Russian army.

The Russian Defense Ministry also stated that Corporal Artyom Tolmachev, acting as part of a unit, carried out the task of storming a stronghold of Ukrainian militants. During active hostilities, Tolmachev secretly approached the border of the enemy's stronghold and was one of the first to engage in a shooting battle with them. The soldier, firing at the enemy, destroyed a machine-gun emplacement, hampering the actions of the Russian attack aircraft.

During the battle, the group was subjected to artillery fire, as a result of which two Russian servicemen were wounded. Corporal Tolmachev promptly provided them with first aid. After organizing the evacuation of wounded soldiers to a safe area, he continued the task. As a result, the Ukrainian Armed Forces could not withstand the onslaught of Russian attack aircraft and retreated, throwing wounded militants into position, the ministry noted.

On March 1, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced that Russian military personnel were calculating the Iskander-M tactical missile system href="https://iz.ru/1847335/2025-03-01/vs-rf-iskanderom-udarili-po-voennomu-poligonu-vsu-v-dnepropetrovskoi-oblasti " target="_blank"> attacked the Ukrainian military training ground Novomoskovsky in the Dnipropetrovsk region, killing up to 150 militants, including up to 30 foreign instructors. It was reported that military personnel of the 157th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were trained at the training ground.
