A 26-meter wooden castle was burned in the Kaluga region on Shrovetide.


In the Nikola-Lenivets Art Park in the Kaluga region on Shrovetide on March 1, a 26-meter wooden castle made of mills was burned. The program of festive events was published on on the "Carnival in Nikola Lenivets" portal.
A traditional festival dedicated to the end of winter was held in Nikola-Lenivets. This year, the theme of the festival was "Once upon a time there was a poor knight...". Master classes and other events were timed to coincide with it.
The culmination of the festival was the burning of the art object "Mills", a wooden structure consisting of 24 towers, the central one of which reaches a height of 26 m, which refers to the novel by the Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes "The Cunning Hidalgo Don Quixote of La Mancha".
"The Carnival object is in motion for the first time: rotating blades are placed on the towers, which come to life with the help of the wind," the Internet portal points out.
It is noted that the burning of the wooden castle was accompanied by a theatrical performance.
