A bus driver who rammed into several cars and a public transport stop in St. Petersburg has been arrested for two months. This was announced on March 1 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the hall of the Moscow District Court.

The man will remain in custody until April 27, 2025. According to the driver, he lost consciousness at the time of the accident and does not remember what happened.

The man added that he had passed a medical examination, according to which there was no alcohol in his blood.

The accident occurred on February 28 at the intersection of Varshavskaya Street and Leninsky Prospekt. The driver of bus No. 147 lost control, ran over passers-by on the sidewalk, crashed into a bus stop and rammed more than seven cars. As a result of the incident, a female pedestrian was killed.
