A court in Yekaterinburg arrested the editor-in-chief of Vechernye Vedomosti for 14 days

In Yekaterinburg, the Kirovsky District Court arrested Vladislav Postnikov, editor-in-chief of the online newspaper Vechernye Vedomosti, for 14 days. The relevant information was published on March 1 on the court's page on the VKontakte social network.

It is clarified that the journalist is accused of publicly displaying the symbols of an extremist organization.

"The court, having reviewed the case materials and listened to the arguments of the parties, found V. Postnikov guilty of committing an administrative offense under Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. He was sentenced to administrative arrest for a period of 14 days," the statement said.

The court's press service indicated that the decision can be appealed within 10 days from the date of delivery or receipt of a copy of the act.

Earlier, on January 10, in Moscow court fined Russian Andrey Molev for Nazi greeting in the subway on New Year's Eve. It is specified that the man publicly demonstrated Nazi symbols by making an appropriate gesture and shouting a Nazi greeting.
