Snipers of the Ivanovo Airborne Troops destroyed two Baba Yaga hexacopters and two machine-gun emplacements of the Armed Forces Ukraine (Ukrainian Armed Forces) near the village of Chasov Yar. This was reported on March 1 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

For a long time, the paratroopers monitored the flight schedules of heavy Baba Yaga-type UAVs for dropping ammunition and mining approaches to enemy machine-gun positions. The movements of the enemy during the rotation and the arrival of riggers with ammunition and food were also established. The snipers transmitted all this data to the regimental command post to make decisions on the destruction of the identified targets.

After that, the sniper pair was tasked with destroying all enemy targets that could interfere with the work of the assault units. The soldiers moved to a point and chose a position convenient for shooting. The distance to the enemy was about 500 m, which created an additional danger of being discovered.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' heavy drones were the first to be destroyed. Then, after moving to another position, two machine-gun crews and several enemy observers were eliminated.

"We work on large targets mainly, that is, these are light armored vehicles, calculations of mortars, machine guns and an automatic grenade launcher (AGS), artillery. The average distance is 1-1.5 km. The machine gun did not allow our units to pass. My second number and I worked on this calculation, and the shooting stopped. The guys were able to pass and complete their task," said Konstantin, a senior sniper of the parachute regiment.

Thanks to the actions of the sniper pair, the assault groups of the Ivanovo Guards Airborne Forces successfully advanced and were able to occupy an important stronghold, thereby bringing the liberation of Chasova Yar closer.

The day before, the Ministry of Defense reported that a sniper pair of the 77th separate motorized Rifle Regiment of the Southern Group of Forces shot down two Baba Yaga hexacopters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Red Army area of the special operation. According to the agency, one R-18 octocopter of the enemy was also destroyed in the Donetsk area of the special operation.
