An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 was recorded in the waters of the Banda Sea off the eastern coast of Indonesia. This was reported on March 1 by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).
It is specified that the seismic event occurred at a distance of 375 km from the city of Ambon, which has a population of 355 thousand people, and 228 km from the city of Tual, which has a population of 39.5 thousand people. The earthquake was located at a depth of 151 km.
