The crew of TOS-2 Tosochka destroyed the positions and shelters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk border region

The crew of the Tosochka heavy flamethrower system of the separate RCB protection brigade of the North group of forces destroyed positions and shelters with the manpower of the Armed Forces Ukraine (Ukrainian Armed Forces) in the border area of the Kursk region. This was announced on March 1 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

It is specified that at night, during aerial reconnaissance in the Kursk border area, an accumulation of Ukrainian armed Forces was detected. Having received the coordinates of the targets, the crew of the Tosochka heavy flamethrower system, together with a security group, immediately moved into a firing position and struck the positions of the Ukrainian militants with thermobaric shells.

"The task of fire support is to ensure that the Tosochka remains intact, respectively, the enemy is in the air and on the ground. That's our problem. The most important thing is that Tosochka arrives, shoots back and returns safely," said a machine gunner with the call sign Dushnila.

The ministry noted that units of the RCB protection forces, consisting of crews of heavy flamethrower systems TOS-2 Tosochka, support the actions of assault, motorized rifle and tank units, destroying fortified long-term strongholds, positions and dugouts with armored vehicles and manpower of the enemy. At the same time, fire control of targets is carried out by operators of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of a group of troops in real time.

"The heavy flamethrower system is area-based in itself, but we can also work point-by-point. Its radius of destruction allows it to capture a large volume, as well as point-by-point, and hit large areas of manpower. A football field is being burned out there, so that you can understand," said the commander of the TOS-2 Tosochka combat vehicle with the call sign Fox.
