On February 28, Russian boxer, European champion Sergey Kuzmin, after defeating Ghanaian fighter, WBA Africa and WBA Pan Africa champion Ebenezer Tette, told Izvestia that he had successfully completed 60-70% of what he wanted.

"I'm training, working out my combinations for big fights, that's all. About 60-70% got what I wanted," Kuzmin said.

He clarified that the fight was not initially aimed at knocking out the opponent, as new combinations were being worked out in it. In addition, the fighter from Russia was surprised by the steadfastness of the athlete from Ghana, as he continued the fight after a lot of missed blows to the head.

He also noted that at one point in the fight, Tette could lose his balance and not stay on his feet due to the weakly stretched ropes around the ring.

Sergey Kuzmin in the main fight of the tournament defeated WBA Africa and WBA Pan Africa titleholder Ebenezer Tette from Ghana.

According to the results of the tournament, Russian boxer Sergey Sergeev in the first fight defeated Cuban Jorge Manuel Soto. At the same time, the bronze medalist of the Russian Championship Igor Sviridchenkov defeated two-time Olympic champion, Cuban Roniel Iglesias in the title fight of the tournament.
