In the presidential administration USA Donald Trump has decided to drastically reduce the staff of the Agency for International Development (USAID) by Ukraine from 64 to 8 people. This was reported on February 28 by the TV channel. href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/state-department-terminates-us-support-ukraine-energy-grid-restoration-rcna194259 " target="_blank">NBC News.

"Prior to the recent actions of the Trump administration, 64 American government employees and contractors served in Ukraine at the agency. Only eight of these employees should remain in place," the TV channel says.

It clarifies that the Trump administration has placed the remaining staff on administrative leave, and ordered those workers who are not considered "critical" to return to the United States.

According to two USAID employees who worked in the agency's mission in Ukraine, this decision will leave the Ukrainian energy system vulnerable in winter.

US State Department terminated the USAID program to support the restoration of the Ukrainian energy system. According to NBC News earlier in the day, hundreds of millions of dollars were invested in the restoration of the Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
