Two more suspects in the case of trafficking in newborns were arrested for two months.

It is noted that the biological mother of the child and the woman suspected of buying the baby will remain in custody until April 26.

In addition, the husband of the alleged customer and a medical worker suspected of complicity were also arrested for two months.

On February 28, four suspects of trafficking in newborns were detained in Shchelkovo, Moscow region. According to the Investigative Committee, in February 2025, the couple decided to buy a child from a pregnant woman, and then found a private medical center and a health worker who agreed to help with childbirth and arrange for the child to be born according to the couple's passport data for 150 thousand rubles.

According to investigators, the doctor handed the woman in labor the passport of the buyer of the child and gave her a drug that provoked premature birth. Then she called an ambulance and provided false information about the woman so that she would give birth to a baby under a false name.

On February 18, the woman handed the child over to the buyers, receiving cash in return. After the suspects were detained, the child was temporarily admitted to the hospital.

Earlier in the day, the Shchelkovsky City Court of the Moscow region arrested for two months doctor Eleonora Salomova, who is suspected of complicity in the trafficking of a newborn.
