In the north of the Rostov region, the quarantine for animal rabies, which lasted about one year, was lifted. This was reported on February 28 by IA NovostiRostov with a link to the relevant act on the government's website.

The focus of rabies was a household located on Lenin Street in the Kolodezyansky rural settlement in the Millerovsky district. On April 1, 2024, quarantine was introduced there in order to prevent the spread of the disease.

According to the news agency, a fox with rabies was found in the area. The radius of the potentially dangerous zone was 3 km.

During the quarantine period, it was forbidden to import and export animals, as well as livestock products. Currently, all restrictions have been lifted.

Earlier in February, it was reported that a new case of rabies was detected in Lipetsk. The sick cat was found on the territory of the garden association "Yellow Sands".
