In Ryazan, the ex-deputy chairman of the regional government was arrested in a bribery case.

The court arrested Artyom Nikitin, former Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Ryazan region. This was reported on February 28 in the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.

"The Sovetsky District Court of Ryazan has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention for the former deputy chairman of the regional government," the department said in a statement.

They noted that the official is suspected under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a particularly large bribe").

According to the investigation, Nikitin helped the entrepreneur win auctions without alternative for illegal remuneration. It is specified that the total amount of funds received amounted to more than 17 million rubles.
