For the sake of the popularity of pets, 63% of Russians constantly take and post photos and videos with their cats. This follows from a study by VK, the results of which were reviewed by Izvestia on March 1.

It was clarified that 1,200 respondents from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Samara, Novosibirsk, and 12 other million-plus cities.

"Every second (48%) respondent most often shares memes with cats, and the majority (63%) regularly take photos and videos with their pets themselves. In order for them to become popular, the owners participate with the cats in exhibitions and castings and keep blogs. This was reported by 30% of respondents," said VK.

In addition, the respondents told us what their cats like to do. 20% of cats prefer to play in their free time, 18% prefer to eat, and 48% prefer to "loaf". This is often called lazy rest — but the word appeared thanks to cats, which often take the form of a loaf in the process of "doing nothing".

"The surveyed cat owners call their pets a bar, bun and pie most often (37%). At the same time, the majority of respondents (84%) did not know that cats rest in the loaf position, lying with their paws tucked in, because this improves body thermoregulation," VK reported.

The company recalled that as part of the #care challenge, users will have a chance to make their cats famous. To do this, you need to post a video with a "fattening" pet in VK Clips before March 12.

The Day of cats in Russia is celebrated March 1st. Traditionally, cat shows, veterinarian consultations on the care of fluffy pets, charity events to help homeless animals and many other events are held in different cities on the holiday.
