British referee David Coote, who insulted former Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp, has been disqualified by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) until June 30, 2026 for harming the reputation of football and UEFA. This was reported on February 28 by the British newspaper .

The football organization said that Kut was disqualified for "discrediting football as a sport and UEFA in particular" and for "violating the basic rules of decent behavior."

The publication pointed out that UEFA launched an investigation against Kuta after The Sun published a video where he uses banned substances while working at Euro 2024. Kut will not be able to participate in any UEFA tournaments during his suspension.

Prior to that, in November 2024, the English Association of Professional Referees (PGMOL) suspended Kuta after a video in which he insulted Liverpool and Klopp, accusing him of lying and calling him arrogant.

Earlier, on February 20, three-time world champion in rhythmic gymnastics Radina Tomova was disqualified for three years for violating anti-doping rules: the banned diuretic hydrochlorothiazide was found in her doping sample. The suspension will last from October 2, 2024 to October 1, 2027.
