Passenger traffic at Russian airports increased by 0.4% in January this year and reached more than 15 million people. This was announced on February 28 by the press service of the Federal Air Transport Agency in the Telegram channel.

"Passenger traffic growth is taking place against the background of airport infrastructure development. Increasing the mobility of the population and ensuring transport accessibility of Russian regions are priorities for the Ministry of Transport and the Federal Air Transport Agency," the message says.

It is noted that about 3.5 million people were served on international airlines, which also accounted for an increase of 9%.

In addition, passenger traffic at the airports of the Moscow Aviation Hub (UIA) increased by 4.8% in January and reached 2 million people on international routes.

Last December, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin said that over the next six years the country will be modernized href="https://iz.ru/1811899/2024-12-22/putin-zaiavil-o-modernizatcii-75-aeroportov-v-sleduiushchie-shest-let " target="_blank">at least 75 airports, 250 billion rubles will be allocated for this.
