There are more than 10 colleges in the capital that train future restorers. At the same time, 70% of the learning time is occupied by practice, said Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

According to him, students study drawing and painting, design, ways to restore and preserve historical and cultural monuments. The practice takes place in the workshops of colleges and on the sites of partner employers.

During the summer holidays, students travel to the Tver and Arkhangelsk regions: during expeditions, they study architecture and restore monuments.

Last year, students and graduates of the capital's colleges won 10 awards, including four gold medals, at the All-Russian competitions of young restorers.

Earlier in February it was reportedthat the Moscow government decided to support the initiative of the Union of Restorers of Russia and organize field restoration schools in various regions of the country. Master's and bachelor's degree students of higher and professional educational institutions who have passed a competitive selection can take part in them. They will learn how to conduct field surveys of monuments, restore the interiors of mansions, restore sculptures, tempera, oil, and monumental paintings. In 2025, it is planned to organize 12 such events, including in Sevastopol, Volgograd, Kaliningrad and Nizhny Novgorod regions, in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Buryatia.
