A rescue operation has been successfully completed in the Sea of Okhotsk, and all 374 fishermen have been rescued from an ice floe that broke off off the coast of Sakhalin. This was reported on February 28 by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.

"A total of 374 fishermen were rescued from the ice of the Sea of Okhotsk. All of them have been brought ashore. There are no casualties," the department's Telegram channel says.

In order to make sure that there was no one else on the ice floe, the rescuers examined the entire ice field and the coast.

A drifting ice floe with fishermen off the coast of Sakhalin became known earlier that day. 11 specialists and six pieces of equipment, including the Hivus hovercraft, participated in the rescue operation. An Mi-8 helicopter was also involved.
