- The media learned about the accusation of Saudi border guards in the deaths of illegal migrants

Representatives of the Saudi Arabian border guard service are accused of murdering, raping and beating hundreds of Ethiopian citizens who tried to illegally enter the territory of the Middle Eastern country. This was reported on February 28 in The Guardian.
The newspaper, based on a report by Human Rights Watch, conducted its own investigation, talking to eyewitnesses of what was happening on the Saudi border.
"I saw with my own eyes how three people were dying next to me..."My leg was blown off as a result of Saudi shelling. Around me were body parts of those who had been killed or wounded [by fire]," an Ethiopian citizen told The Guardian.
One of the eyewitnesses watched as men in the uniform of the Saudi Arabian border service raped three of his compatriots, the newspaper writes.
Migrants describe their journey to the east as "terrifying": they had to wade through rotting bodies and body parts. According to them, Saudi border guards open fire with rifles, rifles and machine guns at those who approach the territory of the Middle Eastern country.
Currently, about 750,000 people from Ethiopia live in Saudi Arabia, about 50% of whom entered the country illegally. Migrants cross the State border from Yemen, where they also face violence. Those who, despite the difficulties, manage to enter Saudi Arabia, as a rule, work for little money — as builders, household helpers or agricultural workers, writes The Guardian.
Earlier, on January 3, several rooms of the Saudi Embassy in Tehran were defeated as a result of an attack by demonstrators protesting against the execution in Riyadh of the famous Shiite preacher Nimr al-Nimr. The aggressive-minded demonstrators managed to break into the embassy, despite the resistance of the police.
