On March 5, Moscow will host the Russian-Myanmar Business Forum, which will bring together representatives of relevant ministries and departments, business and expert circles of Russia and Myanmar. The Forum is expected to be attended by Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, and Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administrative Council and Prime Minister of Myanmar. The event will be a continuation of the dialogue between the Russian Federation and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, initiated within the framework of the 5th meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Myanmar Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, held on February 23 in the capital of Myanmar, Naypyidaw.

"Russian-Myanmar relations have a long history. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established 77 years ago. Russia and Myanmar have been cooperating in many areas since Myanmar gained independence. The countries cooperate in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, energy, mining, and others. We see prospects for strengthening cooperation in these areas, and I am confident that the Russian-Myanmar Business Forum will contribute to the continuation of multi-format Russian–Myanmar cooperation," said Tit Lynn Awn, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the Russian Federation.Among the participants of the Forum: Union Minister of Investments and Foreign Economic Relations of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Dr. Kang Zaw; President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar (FTCI RSM) Ei Win; Secretary General of FTCI RSM Khain Khain Nwe; Head of the airline Myanmar Airways International (MAI) Aung Aung Zo, as well as members of the Russian Communist Party of the Russian Federation Mya Khan and Nyi Nyi Lwin.

"In 2022, the Roscongress Foundation's investment platform, the RK-Investments Foundation, was defined as a platform for interaction between Russian and Myanmar businesses. Three years later, we can see how close the cooperation between the two countries has become. Cooperation between Russia and Myanmar is maintained at a high level. I am confident that the Russian-Myanmar Business Forum will become another milestone in the development of relations between the two countries and will give impetus to new joint projects and initiatives," said Alexander Shatirov, Director of the investment platform of the Roscongress Foundation – the RK–Investments Foundation.

Among the key topics of the business forum are the investment potential of Russian-Myanmar relations and doing business in Myanmar. The participants will discuss in more detail the garment industry using the CMP (cut-make-pack) system, the development of animal husbandry and fishing, and the production of precious stones and jewelry in Myanmar. Special attention will be paid to the prospects for the development of the tourism industry in the country. In addition, the participants will discuss the possibilities of expanding mutual trade, present new products and solutions for the markets of both countries.
