A significant number of women consider gifts not only as a pleasant gesture, but also as an asset with its own financial value. So, 43% of respondents are ready to resell it if it is not useful. This is stated in the results of the financial marketplace research, which was reviewed by Izvestia on March 1.

Among the Russians who answered the questions, 45%, having received monetary gifts, prefer to save money into a savings account or invest. Another 38% spend money on useful and planned purchases, while only 17% purchase pleasant things without hesitation.

In the case of receiving an expensive but unnecessary gift, women adopt various strategies for how to dispose of it. Thus, 43% of respondents sell a gift and use the proceeds for their own purposes, 29% exchange it for more necessary things, 17% keep it waiting for the right moment, and 11% prefer to give it away.

46% of the respondents named money or certificates to their favorite shops, salons and clinics as the most profitable gift. Another 25% prefer expensive jewelry, designer items, niche perfumes and other luxury items. 17% of respondents are interested in courses, subscriptions to useful services and business books, while appliances and household appliances scored only 12% of the votes.

"The results of the study show that Russians are increasingly evaluating gifts not only from an emotional, but also from a practical and financial point of view. Monetary gifts are perceived as a tool for accumulation and reasonable spending, and expensive but unnecessary things are perceived as a resource that can be converted into more useful purchases, which demonstrates high financial discipline, as well as a trend towards conscious consumption," said the director of the Communications policy department of the financial marketplace "Choose." by Anna Romanenko.

Earlier, on February 18, it was reported that in Russia, the demand for flowers from February 1 to February 15 increased by almost two times compared to the same period in January. The most popular products are original bouquets of peony-shaped roses, orchids, hydrangeas and red tulips. This is stated in the results of a study by analysts of the Humopeu wallet and the Flowwow flower and gift marketplace.
