In Krasnodar, an Orthodox diocesan complex may appear on the site of the Akhedzhak cottage. According to the project, it will resemble the ancient Kremlin.
Judging by the description published by the Russian Architecture organization, the project was developed in 2024. He received a diploma at the festival "Architecture-2024" in the nomination "Temple Architecture".
The renderings indicate that the Orthodox complex is a place of high importance that combines the functions of a spiritual and secular center. His appearance must be unique, writes KrasnodarMedia News Agency.
The area of the future complex will be about 66 thousand square meters. m. It will be built on the banks of the Kuban River. In the middle, a temple with a height of 66.5 m will stand on the stylobate. Nearby there is the metropolitan's residence, visitor facilities, an administrative block and the museum of the Orthodox Kuban.
The Russian Architecture organization, established in 2023, brought together experienced architects and designers, mosaicists, artists and builders who work in the field of construction, restoration and decoration of Orthodox churches in Russia.
Religious buildings designed by the organization have been built in all federal districts of the Russian Federation, including Moscow, St. Petersburg and Valaam.
Earlier it was reported that in Krasnodar in 2025, it is planned to open seven new schools with 11,000 places and two additional blocks to existing schools with 700 places. The mayor of the city, Evgeny Naumov, announced this in his Telegram channel. The opening of new large schools is expected on September 1. Each of them will be able to accommodate from 1,100 to 1,875 children.
