An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.0 and a depth of 5 km occurred on Sakhalin. It was felt on the territory of two settlements. This was announced on February 28 by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region.

"On February 28, an earthquake was registered five kilometers southwest of the village of Ado-Tymovo. The magnitude of the seismic event was 3.0, the depth was five km," the department said in a Telegram channel.

It is noted that the tremors were felt by residents of the villages of Ado-Tymovo and Chir-Unvd. According to preliminary data, there are no casualties or damage. The situation is being monitored by employees of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The day before two earthquakes of magnitude 6.1 and 5.2 occurred off the coast of Kamchatka in the Pacific Ocean. It was clarified that the tremor occurred at a distance of 94 km from the village of Nikolsky Aleutian district.
