Megafon and Yota canceled roaming in Crimea and Sevastopol

Telecom operators Megafon and Yota noted roaming on the territory of Crimea and Sevastopol. This was reported on February 28 in the Telegram channel of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of the Russian Federation.
Starting today, during their stay in Crimea and Sevastopol, minutes, SMS, and gigabytes of Internet will be spent from the package, and paid according to standard conditions.
"Earlier, Megafon submitted to the service a letter on the fulfillment of the order to cancel the surcharge for using communication services in Crimea and Sevastopol no later than February 28, 2025," the message says.
The FAS considered the deadline for implementation to be fixed. The subsidiary virtual operator Yota also decided to voluntarily cancel roaming in these territories.
The department added that work is continuing to bring travel communication tariffs to the level of the home region.
Earlier, on February 16, it became known that Russia and Belarus preparations are being completed for the cancellation of roaming. From March 1, 2025, residents of Russia and Belarus will be able to use mobile communications and the Internet on the territory of the Union State at comfortable "home" tariffs, the Ministry of Finance reported.
