Introduction The United States additional duties on goods from China undermines the stability of global production chains and increases the burden on American companies. This was reported on February 28 by China Central Television with reference to the country's Ministry of Commerce.

According to the agency, such steps as the imposition of 10 percent duties on China due to fentanyl do not contribute to solving the problems of the United States, and also increases the burden on American companies and consumers. The Ministry pointed out that the tariffs violate the rules of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and weaken the multilateral trading system.

"The American side has always ignored objective facts," the ministry stressed.

The Ministry of Commerce added that China is actively cooperating with other countries, including the United States, in the fight against drugs.

Before that, on February 1, the American leader Donald Trump signed a decree on href="https://iz.ru/1832286/2025-02-02/tramp-podpisal-ukaz-o-vvedenii-poshlin-na-tovary-iz-kanady-meksiki-i-kitaia"> the introduction of trade tariffs of 25% on goods from Canada, China and Mexico. Then he promised to impose duties on goods from the European Union. With this decision, Trump seeks to reduce the flow of the opioid fentanyl across the border, as well as the flow of migrants.
