The mayor On February 28, Sergei Sobyanin announced the start of construction of the Shelepikhinsky pipeline pipeline in the capital.

He specified that the facility will connect Bolshaya Filevskaya Street with Shelepikhinskaya Embankment. According to Sobyanin, the implementation of this project will increase the reliability of gas supply in both the central and western parts of the city.

"The main part of the pipeline will pass under the river bottom, at a depth of more than 10 m. Mosgaz specialists are building it using the microtunneling method — without digging trenches, with almost no noise and no impact on the environment," the mayor wrote on his Telegram channel.

During the construction process, a high-pressure steel pipe will be used, placed in a special case to protect it from external influences. It is also planned to use domestic materials with a guaranteed service life of more than 40 years, the mayor of Moscow said.

In addition, Sobyanin added, since 2018, a program has been implemented for the reconstruction of pipeline pipelines built between 1939 and 1965. To date, 10 facilities have already been reconstructed, while Kropotkinsky and Shchukinsky remain in operation.

Last November, Sobyanin said, how the gas supply system of the capital will develop. He stated that specialists lay and reconstruct over 100 km of gas pipelines every year.
