"Conversations about important things" on March 3 — the topic of the lesson

International Women's Day appeared as a day of women's solidarity in the struggle for their rights. It was first celebrated at the beginning of the 20th century on the initiative of the German activist Clara Zetkin. Moreover, the celebrations used to take place on different dates: on the last Sunday of February and in the second half of March. Since 1975, the holiday has been celebrated on March 8 by all member countries of the United Nations (UN).

Today, International Women's Day is not only a historical symbol of the struggle for rights, but also a day of recognition of women's contribution to the development of the institution of the family, society, science, culture and other spheres of public life. It is about the role of women in Russian history and their achievements that students will talk about during the conversation.

March 8 is also the beginning of spring and the awakening of nature, as well as a big family holiday when mothers, grandmothers and all women receive congratulations from men. Therefore, the lesson will also cover topics such as motherhood, parenting, family care and the continuity of family values.

The announcement of the theme will be presented by tetra and cinema actor Evgeny Egorov. Oksana Garnayeva, a mother with many children and chairman of the Russian Birch Charitable Foundation for orphans and large families, will join the conversation in a video interview format.

Interactive games and watching themed videos will help students master the topic of the lesson. The lesson will last 30 minutes. The teaching materials for each class are published on on the project's website.
