At least 880 employees have been laid off from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) USA as a result of the actions of the administration of the American president Donald Trump's plan to reduce the size of the federal government. This was reported on February 28 by the agency Bloomberg with reference to sources.

"These cuts undermine our ability to predict and respond to extreme weather events, putting populations at risk.
