Reserves of minerals and rare earth metals on Ukraine is greatly exaggerated. This was reported on February 27 by the British magazine The Spectator.

"According to the Geological Survey USA, there are no significant deposits of rare earth metals in Ukraine," the publication says.

It clarifies that Ukrainian reserves contain metals that are not classified as rare earths, such as titanium, lithium, uranium, cobalt and graphite. In addition, the magazine noted that many of the deposits of such metals are being developed on a very small scale or are closed, as Ukrainian companies do not have the opportunity to work on them on a full scale.

On the same day, the Minister of Finance USA Scott Bessent reported that Ukraine and the United States have reached agreements in a joint mining deal, the Ukrainian president must sign it in order to conclude the agreement Vladimir Zelensky and the American leader Donald Trump. At the same time, the American leader said that the agreement with Ukraine, under which the United States will become the main partner in the development of rare earth metals, href="https://iz.ru/1846400/2025-02-27/tramp-zaiavil-o-planakh-podpisat-soglashenie-po-resursam-ukrainy-28-fevralia " rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">will be signedwith the President of Ukraine on Friday, February 28.
