Every tenth car in 2024 was purchased as part of parallel imports.

Russians spent about 1.2 trillion rubles on cars imported through parallel imports in 2024. This was reported to Izvestia by the press service of GTK-Avto (a company operating in parallel imports since 2022, part of GTK-Holding).
"A year earlier, this amount was at the level of 1.1 trillion rubles. Its increase is due to a combination of factors: an increase in the cost of the machines themselves, and increased sales in general. On average, every tenth car registered in Russia was imported under this program. The main volume consisted of cars of Japanese, Korean and German brands," the company noted.
According to GTK-Avto, Mercedes-Benz is the leader in the luxury segment. In particular, increased demand was recorded for the V-class 300D LONG and GLS 450 4MATIC models. In second place is BMW with the X5, X6 and X7 models. Audi and Land Rover are in third place.
"Market indicators will be complemented by more budget brands: Geely, Li, Kia, Hyundai, Toyota, Mitsubishi and so on. At the same time, Li and Geely are the absolute leaders. They account for 12% and 11%, respectively, followed by Toyota — 10%, followed by Mercedes-Benz (7%) and BMW (6%)," the press service added.
