The FSB prevented a terrorist attack against Metropolitan Tikhon of Simferopol and Crimea

FSB officers detained in In Moscow a Ukrainian and a Russian who were recruited by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense Ukraine (GUR MOU) via Telegram messenger. Improvised explosives and two fake passports of Ukrainian citizens with altered identification data were seized from the men. The suspects have been arrested.

"A criminal case has been opened under Article 30 ("Preparation for a crime or attempted crime." — Ed.), Part 2 of Article 205 ("Preparation of a terrorist act") and Part 4 of Article 222.1 ("Illegal trafficking of explosive devices committed by an organized group") of the Criminal Code of Russia," the FSB Central Control Center clarified.

It is specified that they planned to commit a terrorist attack when Metropolitan Tikhon was in Moscow. Subsequently, the men were going to leave Russia with the help of false documents, which were also provided to them by the Ukrainian special services. It was also established that one of the defendants illegally took over the metropolitan's Telegram account, controlled contacts and received information about his planned trips.

On February 26, the FSB's Public Relations Center reported on the suppression of a series of terrorist attacks in Stavropol, which was planned to be committed by a citizen of one of the Central Asian countries, a supporter of the Ukrainian terrorist paramilitary association. It is established that an attack was planned on the buildings of the authorities and law enforcement agencies of the Stavropol Territory. A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act").
