Boris Spassky, the 10th world chess champion, has died.

The tenth world chess champion Boris Spassky has died at the age of 88. This was announced on February 27 by the President of the Russian Chess Federation Andrey Filatov.

"A great personality has left, generations of chess players have studied and are learning from his games and creativity. A great loss for the country," he said, his words are conveyed by TASS.
