Trump extended a number of anti-Russian sanctions for a year

The President USA Donald Trump extended a number of anti-Russian sanctions for a year in connection with the situation on Ukraine. This is evidenced on February 27 a White House document published in the Federal Register (a collection of official documents of the American government).
"I am extending for a year the state of emergency in the country declared in Decree 13660," the explanatory note says.
It is noted that the document refers to restrictions imposed by the American side in 2014, 2018 and 2022.
This decree was signed on March 6, 2014 by former President of the United States Barack Obama. Later, it was replenished with restrictions introduced by Trump and Joe Biden.
At the same time, Trump announced on February 26 that it would be considered in the future href="https://iz.ru/1845192/2025-02-26/tramp-zaiavil-o-rassmotrenii-vozmozhnosti-sniatiia-sanktcii-s-rf-v-budushchem " target="_blank">the possibility of lifting American sanctions against Russia. He noted that at the moment there are no such agreements.
In turn, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on February 20 that Washington was ready href="https://iz.ru/1842427/2025-02-20/glava-minfina-ssha-dopustil-izmeneniia-sanktcii-v-otnoshenii-rossii " target="_blank">both mitigation and tightening of sanctions against Moscow. According to him, it depends on the negotiation process
