The President Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his country is always ready to provide a platform for negotiations to resolve the conflict on Ukraine. This was announced on February 27 by Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko in an interview with reporters after a meeting with the Turkish leader.

"They are ready to provide their site at any time. <..."In general, they are actively on the agenda and are ready to provide any assistance to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. But, of course, I outlined our approaches once again, that without eliminating the causes of this conflict, it is impossible to talk about reaching any serious agreements," she said.

According to Matvienko, Erdogan also called the Russian president Vladimir Putin is my great friend and asked me to tell him that he is very much expected to visit Turkey.

"We all know that they have a really good personal relationship. This largely affects the nature of the Russian-Turkish relationship, the expansion of our cooperation in various fields," said the speaker of the Federation Council.

Earlier in the day, Matvienko gave Erdogan an oral message from the Russian leader about bilateral relations and the international agenda. Their meeting took place in Istanbul as part of the official visit of the Russian delegation.
