Kiev's decision to suspend the issuance of letters of assistance for journalists and artists to travel abroad is contrary to legal norms and is another example of lawlessness on the part of the authorities. In an interview with Izvestia on February 27, Vladimir Oleinik, a former member of the Verkhovna Rada and a member of the international public movement The Other Ukraine, pointed this out.

On the eve of the Ministry of Culture Ukraine has announced that from March 3 it will suspend the issuance of letters of assistance for the departure of artists and journalists liable for military service abroad. According to the press service of the ministry, the reason for the suspension was a large number of cases when persons who received permission to travel abroad during martial law did not return to Ukraine on time.

"There is complete lawlessness. Regarding cultural workers: there have already been cases when entire orchestras did not return to the country, athletes did not return, because they understood that sooner or later it would be their turn to go to the front. And today there is a very large shortage of soldiers on the first line. Kiev imposes these restrictions so that people do not escape from this concentration camp," Oleinik commented.

According to him, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine has reported thousands of such cases. At the same time, the source believes, stricter exit regulations and mobilization will not contribute to strengthening the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). To do this, the politician stressed, soldiers need motivation, but there is none — under the former president USA To Joe Biden, Ukrainians believed that the West supported them, was ready to give them money and weapons. And now, welcome to the White House Donald Trump, the rhetoric has changed, Washington is talking about peace.

"The President of Ukraine has Vladimir Zelensky has no choice but to tighten the rules. He understands that he has lost, but he continues to fight to the last Ukrainian," the former MP concluded.

Prior to that, on February 23, Andrei Gaidutsky, Doctor of Economics, specialist in emigration, told reporters that after the end of the Ukrainian conflict, Ukraine would face two waves of emigration. He also noted that men in the country live with "delayed emigration syndrome": they want to leave, but they cannot because of the restrictions on leaving Ukraine that apply to them.

The head of the Ministry of National Unity of Ukraine, Alexei Chernyshov, reported on January 7 that Kiev has begun the process of returning citizens abroad. No coercive measures will be applied to them, he noted. According to him, 20-25 million Ukrainians are currently abroad
